Dr Barker is Director of the Centre for Advancement of Sustainable Medical Innovation (CASMI) at Oxford University and has over 30 years of experience in the bioindustries. He is the former Director General of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry, the national body representing the industry nationally as well as in the global medical industry. He was a Director of McKinsey & Co., where he also lead the international pharmaceutical practice, and has been in executive capacities at IBM Life Sciences, Chiron and a number of biotechnology firms internationally. He received his BA, MA and D Phil from the University of Oxford and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Munich, Germany.
